Top issues to address

A good City Council Member serves as the voice of the residents. Rather than pushing their own agenda, your City Council member should listen to your concerns and humbly act to represent your interests. 

While this is not a complete list, these are the key issues I will address as your voice on Laguna Niguel City Council. 

• Public Safety:  Laguna Niguel is ranked the 6th safest city in California. We're safe because our Sheriff Deputies receive the resources needed to enforce the law. As your City Council Member, I will communicate with, and listen to our law enforcement and community wellness partners to ensure that they continue having the tools and funding needed to keep our neighborhoods safe.

• Fiscal Responsibility:   It is important for municipalities to live within their means, and I vow to maintain the City's no-debt policy.  While it's important to maintain a healthy reserve account, the City is not a bank and funds should be used responsibly to provide quality services and resources to all of Laguna Niguel residents. 

• Preservation of Open Spaces:  Our parks, trails, hillsides, and valleys all contribute to the mental and physical health of all who call Laguna Niguel home. As a proud supporter of the Niguel Botanical Preserve, I will oppose any threat to our natural resources and will ensure our fantastic network of parks and trails are protected.

• Services for Seniors:  Laguna Niguel provides a wealth of resources to our aging population, including: activities, transportation services, educational opportunities, nutrition programs, YANA, and support services. I will continue listening to our aging population to ensure that Laguna Niguel tailors its services to their changing needs. 

• Support Small Businesses:  Small businesses are drivers of economic growth and are necessary for vibrant communities. As a small business owner and the 2019 Chair of the Laguna Niguel Chamber of Commerce, I understand the struggles business owners face. As your elected City Council Member, I will ensure that Laguna Niguel remains business-friendly, and will work to help existing businesses thrive.
